The Scrum Master (SM) role is within Santam's Project Delivery Centre (PDC), a dedicated unit responsible for overseeing the successful delivery and governance of strategic projects across the Santam group. The SM is a team-based servant leader who coaches, supports and promotes the Agile philosophy, practices and processes. The SM acts as the Agile team's Gatekeeper, aligning with Project Managers and/or Programme Managers, protecting the team from uncontrolled injection of work and changing priorities. The SM assists the self-organising, multi-skilled Agile team to achieve its delivery goals through effective collaboration, team ownership and velocity consciousness, while helping to identify and eliminate impediments or escalating as appropriate.
